Eczema & Dairy

What we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put into them. There’s been a slight revolution amongst the nation to eat better over the past few years and it’s inspired a lot of motivation and alternatives to achieve it. That’s great for us! We can enjoy even more of the good life because we have better options. And “better options” is the golden phrase in our community right? We want to make sure you have every precaution thought of as you continue in your skin-loving journey.

Have you considered how dairy can contribute to eczema flare ups? You may not even have known but dairy contains this ingredient called, Casein, which is a protein that oftentimes can be the cause of eczema. Dairy is in many foods and many we may not even think about, like tuna for example. I discovered some canned tuna brands add casein to their tuna as a filler. Always check the label, because it’s often listed as “hydrolized caseinate.”

That’s just one example of how it could be hard to understand why we are still struggling with our eczema. Another thing to remember is eczema and allergies are closely related. A touch could be enough to cause a flare-up and many of us have the same common triggers. It could be beneficial to research common allergic reactions to avoid in addition to dairy.

At the end of it all, we want you to know your skin is not a burden. That’s why we create our products specifically with you in mind. To aid as you discover more of what you need to feel good. So not only will you put the best options on top of your skin, but into your body as well.

Dairy in tuna??!!! Seriously!!! I never would have thought to look for that. I’ve slowly been changing my diet including changing to 2% or almond milk.
