It is now October! Those long summer days are gone, the summer vacations are over, and in some states the weather is nice and cool. Just as the weather and seasons change, so does our skin. It’s so important to give our skin the extra moisture that it needs during those times of the year where the climate is different or changing because it definitely effects the way our skin feels and looks. Taking care of our skin isn’t always the easiest during the fall. With school starting back, work schedules resuming, it can sometimes feel a bit much or impossible to include “skin care” or self care for that matter but we must make the time. We are important and our skin matters and needs that extra love and consistency. So it’s time to “FALL into my All Natural products, and show our skin the TLC it deserves.
Here are some great tips to take care of your skin this fall season. The first tip is cleansing your face with a mild soap or facial wash every morning, using cool water to help remove any sebum in your face which can cause breakouts and dirt deposits to accumulate during the day. That is why it’s so important to use a skin care regime and stay consistent.
Our All Natural “Raw African Black Soap” is a great mild soap to use on your face everyday. It is made from the leaves of the harvested plants of plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves and shea tree bark. This soap is packed with vitamin A and E and iron, offers UV protection for your skin, and this soap is great for sensitive skin of all ages. It is perfect for your face but you can use it from head to toe. Black soap also helps with a number of skin conditions such as eczema, razor bumps, skin rashes, dry skin, fine lines, dark spots, blemishes and more. This soap is a perfect way to cleanse, nourish, and repair your skin.
The next skin care tip after cleansing your skin is moisturizing and embracing facial toners and oils. Everyone has different skin types but one thing for sure is that skin needs moisture. Oil and shea butters are perfect for our skin especially when the weather changes and the temperatures cool down. Our facial toner is a hydrating mist that contains nourishing ingredients that help heal, cleanse and repair your face and skin. It’s made with organic rose water to soften and tone your skin. Our toner is 100% free from artificial ingredients, stabilizers, preservatives and perfumes. It helps prevent acne breakouts and premature aging.
The rosewater cleanses the skin removing dirt, oil, and other pollutants, and contains no alcohol so it will not cause any skin irritation. You can also use it as a cooling spray (for hot flashes) or a makeup remover.
The best way to moisturize your skin is to apply the “Glow Girl Face Serum” right after the toner, it will leave your skin feeling refreshed and smooth. It is made from Shea Olein oil (liquid shea butter), which is rich in essential fatty acids & Vitamins A, E, and F. This face serum is moisturizing, soothing and regenerating plus revives the skin by keeping it hydrated without leaving your skin feeling greasy.
I want to also mention that it is great to use a clay mud mask on your skin 2-3 times a week. You don’t have to mask everyday but incorporating a mask into your weekly skin care routine is great for exfoliating and soothing your skin. Our original clay mud mask can also be used as a hair conditioner (detoxes the scalp) or even apply it to areas of your body that are affected by eczema, psoriasis etc. such as your legs, arms or back! Bentonite clay detoxes your skin by removing toxins. When this clay is mixed with water, it gives it a negative electric charge which is how it is able to cleanse the body. As stated before you don’t have to use a mask every day but twice a week is a perfect way to give your skin that extra glow you deserve.
Fall weather can often be chilly and cool which can lead to chapped lips and dry skin, so make sure to take care of those lips by using chapstick and moisturizing your hands and skin with my whipped shea butter. Our shea butter chapstick is great for everyday use and will keep your lips moisturized and smooth all day. Shea butter protects and nourishes the skin and replenishes and repairs dry or cracked skin too. Shea butter is packed with minerals, and vitamins such as Vitamin E & A, that will leave your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.
Last but not least always stay hydrated. Even during the autumn months it's so important to drink lots of water. Proper hydration will also ensure that you have healthy glowing skin all year long, so drink up ladies and gents. Happy Fall!
